What Clean Luxury Really Means at Candl•ogic

Clean fragrance isn’t a trend—it’s our standard.

A recent founder profile of physician-turned-maker, Dr. Liz Lehman, caught our eye because it reflects a wider conversation in home fragrance: some brands lean on crystals and “energy” to frame their products as wellness tools. We respect every maker’s story—but we choose to take a different path. To us, clean luxury is about ingredient accuracy, safety standards, and transparent labeling, not metaphysical promises. (Read the founder profile.)

Our north star: facts, not folklore

At Candl•ogic, we build from science-based guardrails used across our industry. That means aligning our fragrance usage with IFRA Standards and ensuring the materials we select are compliant and disclosed appropriately. It also means following safety labeling guidance so customers know exactly how to burn and use products safely.

What we mean by “clean”

  • Scented candles: coconut–apricot wax + FSC-certified wood wicks (always metal-free).  Soy free for those with allergens and <3% ultra refined, edible food-grade paraffin (same used in your chocolate bars and candies).
  • Room freshening mists: a plant-derived base (no wax, no wick).
  • Fragrance oils: always phthalate-free, paraben-free, carcinogen- and mutagen-free, and aligned to IFRA and Prop 65 limits for intended use.
  • Safety first: we test to the standards you should expect from a modern luxury brand.

Why we avoid metaphysical or medical claims

We love beautiful materials (yes, even crystals—as natural objects). But we don’t say our products “heal,” “treat,” or change your body or mind. Home fragrance is about ambience and mood. We design for calm spaces and cozy "me-time" rituals, not cures.

“Luxury” to us = integrity you can feel...and smell

  • Materials that perform (cleaner burn, thoughtful usage rates, verified sourcing).
  • Labels that inform, no confusion (clear cautions, burn guidance, and ingredients by product type).
  • Design that lasts, from long-burn candles to light, non-sticky room mists you’ll actually use.

Proof of practice (the run-down...)

  • IFRA-aligned fragrance usage rates for each product type.
  • Fire-safety cautions on our candle labels per industry guidance.
  • Scented candles only: coconut–apricot wax + FSC-certified wood wicks.
  • Room freshening mists: plant-derived base; no wax, no wick.
  • Oils: phthalate-free, paraben-free, carcinogen-/mutagen-free; Prop 65 compliant.
