Clean Policy

We believe transparency is part of true luxury. "Clean" should mean something specific—not just a buzzword. At Candl•ogic, our clean policy is built on clear ingredient standards, careful sourcing, and honest communication about what can (and can't) be verified in an industry where full disclosure isn't always required.

What "clean" means at Candl•ogic

For us, "clean" means we make products using ingredient standards we can stand behind—supported by supplier documentation, responsible formulation, and ongoing review as new information becomes available. We focus on what's practical and provable, not marketing slogans.

Our ingredient standards (non-negotiable)

Candl•ogic does not use materials that include:

  • Phthalates
  • Parabens
  • Known carcinogens or mutagens (based on currently available safety documentation and screening)
  • Soy (by choice—our wax and performance goals are different)

We also source fragrance materials only from manufacturers who share our clean-first mindset and prioritize thorough documentation—so the information we receive is generally more reliable than typical “general market” sourcing.

The reality of "clean" claims

Here’s the honest truth: there are limits to what any home-fragrance brand can know with 100% certainty, especially when formulas are proprietary and suppliers are not legally required to proactively send updated disclosures to every buyer after the fact.

That’s why we avoid blanket claims that sound comforting but can’t be proven batch-by-batch. Instead, we commit to ingredient standards, documentation review, and ongoing oversight.

What we review and verify

To uphold our clean policy, we review and cross-check what reputable suppliers provide and what responsible makers should require, including:

  • SDS documentation (safety and handling data)
  • IFRA usage guidance (so materials are used within appropriate limits)
  • Regulatory flags and restricted-substance screening (including being Prop 65-conscious when applicable)
  • Performance testing for stability and consistency
Important disclaimer (please read)

Candl•ogic is only as “clean” as the information available at the time of formulation. We actively vet suppliers and review documentation, but we do not take responsibility for manufacturers who do not release new or updated information about known or possible risks after a material has been introduced, or who do not promptly publish updated documentation.

That said, we intentionally buy from manufacturers who operate with transparency and clean-ingredient priorities—so the likelihood of undisclosed issues is meaningfully lower than general-market sourcing. And if credible new information becomes available that conflicts with our standards, we remove the material from production.

Product-by-product clarity

Candles: wax + wicks

Candl•ogic candles are hand-poured using a coconut–apricot wax blend and primarily FSC-certified wood wicks (cotton wicks are used in one specific candle only).

Paraffin transparency

Yes—our candle wax blend may include up to ~3% fully refined, food-grade paraffin (CAS 8002-74-2). “Food-grade” means a high-purity paraffin class used in food-contact applications—and it’s the kind of material many Americans have already encountered through common food coatings (chocolate is a familiar example people often recognize). The remaining ~97% is our coconut–apricot blend. We disclose this because many brands use vague language (“natural wax,” “soy blend”) without giving customers anything concrete.

Why include any paraffin at all?
At very low levels, fully refined paraffin can improve burn consistency, glass adhesion, and surface finish—especially with wood wicks and normal seasonal temperature swings. Our priority is safe, consistent performance without compromising our clean standards.

Room Freshener Mists, Reed Diffusers & Car Diffusers: base

Our non-candle formats are made with a plant-derived base (no wax, no wick). We apply the same ingredient standards and fragrance screening across every format.

Bottom Line

We won’t sell you slogans. We’ll give you clarity:

  • We follow strict ingredient standards and we’re upfront about what they are.
  • We verify what we can through documentation and responsible formulation.
  • We’re honest about what can’t be fully known due to proprietary formulas and delayed updates.
  • If new information conflicts with our standards, we act.

If you ever have a question about ingredients, sensitivities, or product formats, reach out—we’ll answer with the same care we formulate with.
